Five ways to get document security wrong

1.  Forget your papers on the printer.

Well it happens to everyone. You printed something but then forgot about it ... salary information? Medical data? Secret new product in development? Sometimes we just can't afford to forget about it and we need to be realty mindful about it before it is too late.

2. Sending files to wrong person

Again, it happens to everyone but once more ... it does not make it any more acceptable. When you work with such information you have to double and triple check yourself.

3. Saving the sensitive files in an common folder on the server.

When someone needs to scan a document and then save it to the cloud, they usually need to save that scanned file somewhere local first.

4. Getting someone else to print for you.

Sometimes remote workers need something printed before they come in. A common way around this is to ask someone else to print the file for them.

5. Leaving open files on your desk or monitor.

This is another classic everyone can relate to. We feel at home in the office but many times we are actually not alone.
